Last month the EUA published the Interim Report of the DEFINE project on funding efficiency in higher education.
The study examines the interplay between pressure and influence at (public) system level and action taken at institutional. Based on consultation with 24 national rectors’ conferences in Europe, it looks at funding modalities, merger and concentration pressure, “excellence” schemes, and efficiency (cost saving) measures.
