VU International News and Reviews No. 14 October 28 2013

October 2013

A University World News article of October 25th reports that Chinese government published proposals to stem the misuse of research funds. China’s research budget has been growing at 20$ annually and now amounts to ca 120 billion Euro. The proposals are seen as part of the broader anticorruption campaign. By bringing in more academics into the process of research funds allocation, it is hoped that more research money actually finds it way to serious research.
