Eurostat has published the 2017 edition of its Eurostat Yearbook. The chapter on education compares actual data with the EU’s Education and training 2020 and Europe 2020 targets. For Higher education, these are that 40% of the age group 30-34 should have completed higher education and that at least 20% of HE graduates should have obtained at least 15 ECTS through study/internship abroad.
The yearbook shows that the EU countries are already achieving their overall target of 40% HE attainment for women, but not yet for men. Disappointingly, the yearbook offers no data on study/internship abroad attainment in comparison to the 20% / 15ECTS target – and offers no explanation for those missing data.
