The French-Dutch University network has recently published a guide for institutions wishing to set up joint doctorates or co-tutelles. The report lists salient points of discussion/negotiation and provides a background understanding of the two higher education systems. It looks at formal regulations as well as the ‘habits’ which in practice may prove the more formidable obstacles.
