On 23 May, the French National Assembly adopted new legislation on higher education, which also gives more flexibility in English as Medium of Instruction.
The legal default language at French universities remains French, but the range for exceptions has been extended. Not only language programmes and “international programmes” may be taught in English, but also courses which fall under agreements with international universities and courses that are part of European programmes.
