In September, Nuffic published its statistical data on student mobility for 2012, with data on international students from most popular countries of original. As VU has ca 3,5% of all Dutch HE students, it would need over 900 German students, over 200 Chinese students, close to 50 Turkish, and over 40 Indonesian students to achieve the Netherlands average.
The total number of international degree students grew with 3,8% from 2010/11 to 2011/12. Dutch universities with the highest numbers were Maastricht (6 662), Groningen (2 718), Delft (2 714), Rotterdam 2 408), and Amsterdam UvA (2 180).
At 3 universities, more than 40% of students participate in credit mobility: Wageningen (58,1%), Eindhoven (49,1%), and Delft (42,0%).
