In the series of short reports of the AIEA, Rahul Choudada from WES has published a note on the use of social media in international student recruitment. The note highlights the value of social media, how they adapt to students’ communication style, increase speed across geographical boundaries, against low cost, and allow for adaption to local practice.
It sketches the use of virtual platforms & communities, Alumni engagement, and localization of social media usage. The note gives a wide array of examples of universities using the social media.
