The European Union has started the process to appoint 5 new members of the governing board of the European Institute of Technology. The Board is the EIT’s principal decision-making body entrusted with providing the strategic leadership of the Institute. The Board consists of 12 members, appointed by the European Commission from business, higher education, and research with gender and geographical balance. A Call for expressions of interest has been put online. From the perspective of the Aurora network, it may be hoped that the new Board will look at the societal impact & relevance of research not only from an economic and technological perspective but also from the perspective of social coherence and well-being.
