Aurora communications strategy getting shape
The senior communications officers from the Aurora universities met at Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam on October 6 for a positive and productive meeting to help develop the network’s communications strategy.
The communications leads from eight of the Aurora universities spent the morning in two workshops, moderated by Ida Sabelis of VU Amsterdam, and explored the Aurora themes of Diversity and Research Impact to help develop a shared understanding of common narratives, values and aspirations across Aurora institutions.
The afternoon was spent debriefing from the two Diversity and Research Impact pitches undertaken in the morning and was followed by an overview from Aurora and VU Amsterdam President Jaap Winter about the need to develop a shared understanding across the network members of Aurora’s mission and unique point of difference.
The Communications group, chaired by Andrew Stronach (UEA), is developing a communications roadmap focusing on internal communications across the network with the aim of sharing key narratives, communications templates and core messages, and outlining information flows and co-ordination with Kees Kouwenaar as head of the Aurora office. The plan will be presented at the next Aurora meeting at UEA in Norwich during November.
