On November 13th, at the invitation of the European Commission (DG RTD), 23 experts joined forces to help the Commission find ways to best involve citizens in setting Europe’s research & innovation agenda for the new 9th EU framework Program.
One of the 23 experts is part of the EU grant desk of VU Amsterdam. This allowed Aurora to subscribe as a network of 9 societally engaged research universities to endorse the recommendations of the expert group.
The group of experts strongly support European Commission’s intention to co-create and co-design the next EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. Robust societal engagement is vital to ensuring Research and Innovation (R&I) aligns with the needs, values and expectations of citizens. The recommendations are geared towards maximizing the potential for societal engagement in the program.
