At the Norwich Aurora Biannual, 9-10 November, the University of Duisburg-Essen has won the first Aurora Diversity and Equality Award with its “Chance Hoch 2” project.
In 2017, the Aurora Diversity Award was launched within the network to highlight innovative and successful inclusion and diversity interventions. Its objective is of the annual Aurora diversity award is to identify and exchange good practices and to advance the Aurora network’s vision of equal opportunities for staff and students.
In 2017 there were 18 nominations from the participating partner universities from which the jury nominated 3:
- Chance Hoch 2, University Duisburg-Essen
- StuDream, University of Antwerp
- Sensitity to Diversity in Education, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
But all 18 projects are excellent examples of putting the Aurora vision in practice; a brochure with all 18 projects has been published to honor them all.
