As part of the ASALI project, VU Amsterdam, Moi University and South Eastern University organise a conference on Food Security, Sustainable Energy and Successful Entrepreneurship in Eldoret (Kenya) from 10 to 13 April 2018. The Call for Papers for this conference is available below.
ASALI stands for “A Sustainable Approach to Livelihood Improvement” and focuses on research, training, ad capacity development , with a focus on disadvantaged groups such as small-scale farmers, women and youth.
Most activities are grouped under the four priority thematic areas: 1. natural resource management; 2. sustainable entrepreneurship; 3. renewable energy; and 4. health, food and nutrition security.
The objective of this conference is to bring together researchers and stakeholders from the private, public and government sector to discuss and evaluate the following:
- research results on food security, sustainable energy and successful entrepreneurship conducted within the framework of the ASALI project, and
- research outputs and policy issues related to Kenya’s Vision 2030 or to similar national long-term development policies (and associated thematic areas that are of contextual relevance) elsewhere
