October 16 - August 18, 2019
On 17 and 18 October ACA organizes the CMEPIUS conference to which Kees Kouwenaar, Secretary General of the Aurora Universities Network will give a presentation on Social Responsibility.
The theme of this year’s conference is dedicated to the engagement of higher education institutions with their local and regional ‘habitat’. This habitat consists of many actors: civil society at large, municipalities, companies, NGOs, and many more. The ‘engaged university’ is thus about identifying the classical tasks of the university, i.e. teaching/learning and research. And Incorporating it with what some call the ‘third mission’ of higher education: outreach and service to and collaboration with non-academic actors.
The ACA is a federation of national organisations from Europe and beyond which fund and encourage international cooperation in education. ACA, their collective umbrella body, is dedicated to furthering innovation and internationalisation in higher education. It pursues this aim by a wide range of activities, among them studies, evaluations and publications, international conferences and seminars, networking between its members and with prominent government and civil society organisations, as well as advocacy.
