On the 5th of July the VU will organise an event on Supporting University Community pathways for Refugee migrants. The event is the result of an Erasmus+ project called S.U.C.RE. that was executed with the University of Köln, the Aristotle university of Thessaloniki and the Greek Council for refugees.
Morning Session:
- Opening by prof dr Vinod Subramaniam, Rector of VU Amsterdam
- Contributions by prof dr Ruard Ganzevoort, Dean of Theology and MP in the Dutch Senate, and Mr Frans Snijders, director VU International Office
- The SUCRE Project by dr Alexandros Triantafyllidis, Aristotle University Thessaloniki, Greece
- Experiences by (former) refugees students and UAF
- SUCRE project results on Output 1: Qualifications and access to higher education; and Output 2: Support to refugee students;
- SUCRE Results on Outputs 4 and 5: Supporting Refugees in Legal, Health and Psycho-social issues
- Dr Marit Sijbrandij (VU): Experiences of the H2020 STRENGTHS project: Strengthening Mental Health Care Systems for Syrian Refugees
