Vrije Universiteit DIES NATALIS 2017 SUSTAINABLE MINDS. OUR AGENDA FOR CHANGE.

During the 2017 Dies Natalis celebrations on October 20, the spotlight has been on VU Amsterdam’s profile theme Science for Sustainability. This year’s celebrations were entitled: Sustainable minds. Our agenda for change. How can VU Amsterdam contribute to solutions to sustainability issues? How can the way our teaching and research is organized help with this?

In his Dies Natalis Lecture, Pieter van Beukering (Associate Professor of Environmental Economics) outlines a strategic vision of sustainability for teaching and research, in which students, researchers and lecturers seek comprehensive answers to these key questions.

Pieter van Beukering is a Dutch economist with more than 20 years of experience in research and teaching in environmental economics. Since 2009 Pieter van Beukering is an Associate Professor lecturing environmental economics at the Faculty of Earth and Life Sciences (FALW) of the VU University.
